Bio:
Hailing from the suburbs of New Jersey, Melissa “Meme” Gregorio fell in love with dance music at the tender age of 13 when attending a New Year’s Eve party at her neighbor’s apartment who was DJing house music. “The beat was undeniable, I couldn’t hide from it. It was like a primal instinct that just took over my soul. Since then, I’ve been hooked.” She attempted to follow her dream and start mixing on some Gemini turntables she bought, but gave up with no one to show or teach her how. Now years later and living in Hawaii, she found herself surrounded by the most talented DJ’s and producers on the island and becoming even more inspired than ever while squeezing a little practice in. Currently working a civilian contract in Afghanistan, she finally had the money to purchase the equipment she needed to learn along with some skills she picked up along the way. She now Dj’s a dance night once a week for the soldiers and civilians serving in Afghanistan and is awaiting her return for her U.S. debut.
